Our Mission:

St. James celebrate a Lutheran witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We worship

Upcoming Events:
- VOLUNTEER NEEDED... Ushers are needed for both services in February, and lectors for the early services on February 5 & 19. Also, there are openings for altar flowers on January 29, February 5 & 19, as well as a donor for the February Celebration Sunday cake. Please see the sign up sheets at the information desk. The new 2012 flower chart is now available.
- Souper Bowl Of Caring . . .
On Sunday, February 5, we will once again join with many churches across the nation in participating in the Souper Bowl of Caring. As the teams compete in football’s “Super Bowl”, church members will be called upon to remember that in this culture of excesses, there are still many neighbors in need. Soup kettles will be available here at St. James so that you can make an offering to the local Ligonier Valley Association of Churches Food Pantry. Please come prepared to make a generous gift!
- The Annual Congregational Meeting . . .
Will be held on Sunday, February 12 AND we will have a single, combined worship service, held at 10:00 am. After the meeting will be a potluck luncheon. Please plan on joining us. See our Parish Notes for more information.
- Attention Mentoring Team Members . . .
Mark your calendars: The date of the next Mentoring Session has been changed to next Sunday, February 5th, because the Congregational Annual Meeting will be held on February 12th with one worship service at 10:00 am. Look for more information through email or by letter.
- Annual Reports . . .
In preparation for the annual congregational meeting on February 12, Annual Report articles from each committee chair are now due into the church office to be duplicated for the Bulletin of Reports.
- The Ligonier Valley Food Pantry . . .
Has asked the people of St. James to collect boxes or bags of rice for the February distribution. There is a box in the side church for your donations. Please try to have your donations to the church by Wednesday, February 15.
- Two Vacancies Remain . . .
On our Congregational Council! Names of potential nominees will be considered for election at the upcoming annual meeting. If you would consider serving, please contact one of the current council members. Thank you!
- Volunteers Needed . . .
The Memorial Fund Committee needs a couple of volunteers to help with their work for the church. Meetings are held when needed.
